The McMost team is finishing up the semester. Faculty members include Dr. Wayne Keith (Physics), Dr. Cindy Martin (Math), and Dr. Pam Veltkamp (Chemistry).  Student members are James Freiheit, John MIchael Herriage, Sheharyar Khan, and Austin Wegner.

Their rocketry project has been a great success.  Despite the wind, several different teams of high school students completed the assembly of the rockets, initial collection of data, projection of results, and then proceeded onto the track to fire the rockets.

First, students set up their launch sites.  Then they clipped the firing assembly to the solid-fuel engines.  A launch button was used to fire the rocket.  Each rocket soared into the blue and students used protractors to estimate height.  The rockets were retrieved after “splashdown” and the data used to compare actual performance to the hypothesized results.
