Spring Clean Your Mind
Hey everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a refreshing Spring Break because we’re back and ready to dive into the rest of the semester. The weather is looking absolutely beautiful, which is perfect for enjoying some outdoor time. Be sure to check out your War Hawk Week Ahead Newsletter for details on exciting events coming up—there’s something for everyone!
With exams just around the corner, it’s crucial to prioritize your mental health and well-being this semester. We have only 52 days left until the term wraps up (weekends included), so let’s commit to taking care of ourselves during this busy time. I know that balancing schoolwork, family obligations, and daily life can sometimes feel overwhelming. One effective way to clear your mind is by tidying up your physical space, whether that’s your bedroom, car, or even your digital life—such as decluttering your phone. A clean environment can work wonders for your focus and mood. Make an effort to distance yourself from any negativity in your life. It’s completely okay to take intentional breaks when you need them. Spend some time alone, listen to your favorite music, or binge-watch that series you’ve been meaning to catch up on. If you have a hobby that you haven’t engaged with in a while, now is the perfect moment to revisit it and do something that brings you joy. Remember, you’ve got this, and it’s important to find what makes you feel fulfilled.
Also, if you find yourself needing extra support or someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can always email your success coach or a counselor. Remember that these resources are free for McMurry students and faculty. Please make use of them to keep yourself mentally and emotionally healthy during this semester. I’ll link the webpage for counseling here. Let’s finish strong! Be safe, fellow War Hawks!
