Season’s greetings, War Hawks! It is close to that time when you scramble for gifts to buy your family, friends, or even yourself, but don’t let the holidays drag you down this year. Deck the Quad is tonight at 5:30 p.m.! There are also many events to join here in Abilene if you are looking for a great way to spend your winter break.
Starting with the Paramount Theatre, located in the picturesque Downtown Area of Abilene, hosts a variety of events and movies for you and your companions to enjoy. Two movies will be showing on December 6th-7th, the first movie, A Christmas Story, will be premiering at 2 p.m. The second movie, White Christmas, will be showing at 7:30 p.m. These two movies are budget-friendly; the prices range between $6 and $7. On December 13th, they are hosting a Blue Suede Christmas show at 8:00 p.m. for $42, which features an Elvis Presley tribute singer, Moses Snow. Many more events are happening at this location, so it depends on what you are looking for!
One truly mesmerizing experience to savor is the Winter Lightfest in Abilene. This enchanting event showcases a ¾-mile paved pathway adorned with over 3 million twinkling lights that create a magical atmosphere. Along the walk, you’ll find charming spots perfect for capturing memorable selfies against a backdrop of dazzling displays. Numerous vendors set up throughout the event, offering steaming cups of rich hot chocolate and delectable seasonal treats that will delight your taste buds. Be sure to check their website for the specific weekends they are open; I know they welcome visitors every weekend leading up to the new year, making it a perfect holiday outing!
