Theatre Presents “A Seussified Christmas Carol” this Saturday!
Ready to get into the holiday spirit? This Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Mabee Room (located in the Campus Center), the Theatre department will be performing “A Seussified Christmas Carol”. This is a free children’s Christmas show with only one public performance! Next week, the cast will be touring the play to eight elementary schools in Abilene and performing for 3rd-5th graders. This is the third year Theatre has done a touring children’s Christmas show, and it continues to be a hit!
Playscripts description of A Seussified Christmas Carol is “A whimsical reinvention of Dickens’ most beloved Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets. With zoot-fruited juices and binka bird geese, from Bed-Headed Fred to Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorious holiday cheer is similar to something Dr. Seuss might have come up with — if he ever had his way with the story.” The play is full of fun with a classic Dr. Seuss rhyming style and lots of jokes. As a Narrator in the show, I get to help tell the story with Freshman Theatre major Kinley Jeffers! This is her first Christmas show at McMurry and I am so excited for her and all of our new students to experience performing for children. It is definitely exhausting, but so worth it! Getting to watch the kids’ joy as they really believe in the story is a different kind of holiday magic.
If you are free on Saturday morning, come to the show!
It’s okay if you can’t though, just thought you should know.
You won’t want to miss this hilarious play,
Thanks for reading, have a great holiday!
