Have you ever thought about being part of the McMurry Cheer or Dance Team?\u00a0Now\u2019s\u00a0your chance! Both teams are looking for motivated and energetic students who want to\u00a0represent\u00a0the university, support War Hawk Athletics, and be part of a high-energy team environment. If you are interested, tryouts will take place next Saturday, April 18th from 9 – 11 a.m.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spirit Squad recommends that you register as soon as possible so that you can get\u00a0all of\u00a0the information you need to be prepared for tryouts. The registration form will ask you questions such as your level of experience, why you want to be a member, and what team you are trying out for (Cheer, Dance, Mascot). You can register using this\u00a0link<\/a>\u00a0to fill out the form and receive tryout materials. The last day to register is Thursday, April 16th.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a member of the Talons Dance Team, I highly recommend that anyone who is interested should\u00a0try\u00a0out. Even if you do not have much of a past in Cheer or Dance, you may surprise yourself with your abilities and be able to gain new experiences. Many of our Talons did not come from a background in dance, but with practice and support from their teammates, they have flourished. Trying out can be intimidating, but\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0an opportunity to grow and challenge yourself. I love being on the team and have no regrets\u00a0in trying out my sophomore year. I have made so many memories, met new people, and gained leadership experience. One of the other talon dancers, Rylee Colman says, \u201cBeing a part of this team and being one of the people who\u00a0was\u00a0here since day one has been such a blessing. My advice for anyone\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0thinking about trying out is just to go for it even if\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0just for fun, you never know how far you or the team will go!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tori Lamb, the Cheerleading & Spirit Squad\u00a0Coach\u00a0says that\u00a0she is really excited for tryouts this year. She says, \u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0looking for high-energy, dedicated athletes who want to\u00a0represent\u00a0McMurry and be part of building something special. This is a big moment for our program as we continue to grow and start\u00a0laying\u00a0the foundation to move toward a more competitive future. If\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0ready to work, bring great energy, and be part of that process,\u00a0we\u2019d\u00a0love to see you out there\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
