Time out from research efforts at McMurry this afternoon, as Research Team members and others from the Biology Club/Tri-Beta join in to help with clean-up of Catclaw Creek.  We’ve adopted this site for several years as our effort to improve our environment and as a service to the people of Abilene.  We were recently recognized by Keep Abilene Beautiful (https://keepabilenebeautiful.org/) for our willingness to answer the call and contribute to cleanups whenever one is needed.

There is even a potential research project from this effort, as Dr. Boyle has been mulling over different approaches that might be used to capture more of the waste generated from a recently completed commercial center before it can wash downstream to our regular collection site.  Who knows?  Maybe another Research Team is on the horizon!
