Team O’Connell’s Oncogeniuses is spending today at the State Capitol in Austin representing McMurry at the Undergraduate Research at the Capitol event.  Each year, students from colleges across Texas gather at the Capitol to showcase their research.  They get the inside tour of the Capitol, meet with Legislators, and meet faculty representatives from research programs around the state.  This year, it is once again Dr. O’Connell’s students who are describing their latest discoveries in breast cancer research and metastasis.  On the trip this year is her Research Team:  Michael McEachern, Jake Hubbard, Daniel Nunez, and Ryan Rollins.  No word on whether they are rocking their hot pink labcoats.  Photos should be coming shortly.
