The S3C staff is competing in the Fall Door Decorating Contest, sponsored by McMurry’s Staff Council. The theme selected by S3C staff members is “Fall”ing Into Student Success!  Professional Tutor (Tammy Werner), STEM/Pre-Health Career Specialist (Erica Medina), Victoria Garza-Roark (Transfer Specialist), and Jennifer Lowe (Grant Management Assistant) all contributed to the chalk art for the entrance way and the paper sculpture of the apple tree inside

The steps represent the services provided by the S3C office and are believed to be the building blocks to student success.

Apples of Encouragement

As you enter the S3C office door, you are welcomed by a beautifully crafted Encouragement Apple Tree. The S3C staff added a creative spin to a fall favorite hobby- apple picking. As students need encouragement, they are free to take an apple from the tree. Some of the positive encouragement apples have notes like:

  • Positive Mind. Positive Vibe. Positive Life.
  • Never give up because great things take time!
  • “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”- Theodore Roosevelt
  • “If you can dream it, you can do it.” – Walt Disney

Decorating was completed on November 19, and judging will happen on the afternoon of Monday, November 22.

The team did a great job!  We will come back and post results when they are available
