Preparations are underway for this Saturday’s Research Festival, the Title V portion of the McMurry Academic Conference. Festivities will begin at 10 am on the second floor of the Finch-Gray Science Center, as we enjoy oral presentations and over a dozen research posters produced by students from Research Teams and a Biology course. Research Team topics featured will be
- biofuel production,
- invasive crab populations in area lakes,
- status of small mammal populations at Camp Bowie in Brown County,
- breast cancer biology and factors leading to its spread.
Students from the BIOL 3403 Foundations of Microbiology are also entering posters. Their topics are
- antibacterial activity of essential oils
- potential for mutagenesis from grilling out
- potential for mutagenesis from Bluetooth exposure
- potential for mutagenesis from exposure to herbicides
