Preparations are underway for this Saturday’s Research Festival, the Title V portion of the McMurry Academic Conference.  Festivities will begin at 10 am on the second floor of the Finch-Gray Science Center, as we enjoy oral presentations and over a dozen research posters produced by students from Research Teams and a Biology course.   Research Team topics featured will be

  • biofuel production,
  • invasive crab populations in area lakes,
  • status of small mammal populations at Camp Bowie in Brown County,
  • breast cancer biology and factors leading to its spread.

Students from the BIOL 3403 Foundations of Microbiology are also entering posters.  Their topics are

  • antibacterial activity of essential oils
  • potential for mutagenesis from grilling out
  • potential for mutagenesis from Bluetooth exposure
  • potential for mutagenesis from exposure to herbicides

Come join us and cheer on your these research adventurers.
