Through the semester, Dr. C’s Team Cisco Sustainability has been working on using a bioreactor to generate biofuels from animal waste.  We’ve seen their progress step-by-step as they built their bioreactor from scratch, checked on optimum conditions for gas production, and devised a way to collect the gases generated over Spring Break.  Last night was the moment of truth, as they tested the combustibility of their gaseous product to see if their goal of making a useful biofuel was realized.  These photos show the success of their work.  In the photo at left a blue flame can be seen where their biogas is being burned.  Congratulations to Team Cisco Sustainability for their success in achieving this milestone!
