“Partnering for STEM Success” is the theme of our Title V grant.  McMurry and Cisco are working together as never before to join forces in preparing and supporting STEM students.  Whether it is shared equipment or shared opportunities, our two campuses are working as a team for the sake of our students.

No greater example of that is occurring this spring.  The intent of the Title V research teams is to increase research on our campuses.  Under normal circumstances, this would mean Cisco faculty mentor Cisco students and McMurry faculty mentor McMurry students.  That is the way research over the past year has happened.  However, this spring, a McMurry student is crossing town to do her research with a Cisco faculty member as a part of a Cisco Research Team.

Jocalyn Meyer has an interest in Sustainability and Renewable Resources.  When she heard about the work being done with students by Team Cisco Sustainability, she contacted our Title V office and asked if it would be possible to work with Dr. C.  The answer was “yes”, and all red tape and logistics needed to make it happen were resolved.  The above photo is from her first week’s orientation to the Cisco Lab.  We will keep everyone apprised of the work done this semester.

Congratulations to Jocalyn on being a pioneer in our Research Team effort!
